5 Dec 2023 – 1 Oct 2026
The 54th Parliament, wrapped.
Three years, 280 bills and 598 recorded readings. Here's what happened in the House, and how Five Million Voices voters saw it.
How we counted
- Figures are as recorded on 6 October 2026, after Parliament dissolved on 1 October. 182 of the 598 readings come from Hansard's uncorrected daily record and may still change.
- Bill outcomes, select committee stages and urgency come from bills.parliament.nz. The urgency share counts every bill before the House (306) with at least one stage taken under urgency, the same method as our homepage chart.
- Party agreement uses the 339 party votes this term. A pair "agreed" when both parties put most of their votes on the same side.
- FMV figures come from 9,126 votes cast on this site since 26 June 2026. People choose to take part, so this is not a poll and does not represent all New Zealanders. A bill's split is shown only once it has at least five votes.
- Bills still before the House lapse at dissolution unless the new Parliament reinstates them.
